Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Rob started wrestling at age 14 when he moved to New York for high school, in the 44kg weight class. He wrestled 4 years of high school, going 96-44 and placing 6th in the New York State Qualifying Tournament (where only the top 2 go through to the State Tournament). After a disappointing finish to his high school career, Rob wrestled collegiately for RPI in Upstate New York and the Division 3 level. He was a 3 time captain of the team, 4 time National Tournament qualifier, placing 8th (67kg) and 6th (71kg) - earning All-American status, in 2006 and 2007 respectively. He finished his career with a record of 107-33. He also won the Northeast Regional Championship in 2007 and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Year from the conference. Rob left University as RPI’s record holder for the most career wins, most wins in a season and first All-American. Rob is well versed in Folkstyle and Freestyle wrestling techniques and as part of our team of MMA coaches, uses his knowledge, skills, and experience to train our athletes on their takedowns and throws.
